In Retrospect is the story of a retired Judge who tries to re-think a court case where he met his wife who just recently passed away.
In 1958 she was Elfredo’s lawyer. Elfredo, a yong black Antillean man was accused of raping a white Dutch girl. The night before the verdict, Elfredo commits suicide. His reasons remain unclear. He had a fair chance to be acquitted.

30 years later the judge is confronted again with this case and he tries to find a reason for the suicide. Finally he comes to an astonishing verdict.
